My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone! My name is Rosie and as you can see by my pictures, I am an absolutely gorgeous Rose Breasted Cockatoo. I'm around 6 years of age, so still an adolescent. Did you know that I could live to be at least 70 years old in captivity? I sure could!! If given the proper care and kept on a healthy diet, and of course lots of attention, I could be with you for a long time. That is why if you are interested, you do need to know that I am a lifetime commitment.
At this time, my foster Daddy has me on a healthy diet of pellets, this thing called "chop" and some fruit. I love nutriberries and almonds!! YUMMY Yummy!!!
I can talk a bit, but right now I am still a little shy as it will take some time for me to get use to my new surroundings. I do make the usual cockatoo noises. This means I can be LOUD, especially when I want your attention. Therefore, I can only be adopted into a single family home. NO apartments, townhouses, condos or duplexes. We don't want to upset the neighbors, do we??!!
If you play music, I become a dancing queen. I love music and also human interaction. Love those head scritches and being on your shoulder when you walk around your home. My favorite toys are bells and any of the shredding toys. What a mess I can make but you know what they say!!! Well, in case you don't...A busy beak is a happy beak!
It is VERY important that you know that I STRONGLY prefer men. I do not like women at all. Once I get use to you - if you are a man - I will "step up" for you. But you do need to give me time to adjust to you and my new surroundings.
I am okay with dogs BUT NOT CATS - really really dislike them. I'm much prettier and nicer then those cats anyhow. I'd be more fun to have in your home. Right??
Oh, I do also want you to know that I have a nervous habit of mild plucking on my chest and wings. It's not a health issue - just a naughty habit. In time this may go away, especially if I can find the forever home that is just right for me.
Okay, I've told you a little bit about me. Hopefully someone who has lots of time, patience and especially LOVE to give, will come visit me and see if we are the perfect match. How can you resist not being interested in me?? Think of all the fun dancing and singing together we could have each day. I'm sure I would make your days fun.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the birdâs cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
