Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Tootsie! She has an adorable curly-Q tail, is 36 lbs, and approximately 11 months old. We are unsure about her breed, really, but her build is very similar to a Basenji even down to her tail with the exception of her ears. She does point sometimes, so could be part pointer. Her brindle coat does not fit either of those breeds, so maybe she's part dingo as well! We also think she is bilingual.
Tootsie is very sweet and wants to please. She loves companionship and is good with other dogs, however may not be good for a home with cats, as she curiously chases them. (She has never harmed them, just chases curiously.) She has not been around children since we've had her, but based on her personality we think she would probably really enjoy their company. Tootsie does not have much training, but is food and toy motivated so would be easily trainable. She does seem to know to sit and shake, but not necessarily on command. She's had very few potty accidents and will usually sit by the door and/or whine when she needs to go out. She does okay in a crate, although has to be coaxed in a lot of the time.
If you can't adopt Tootsie, maybe you'd consider fostering her? Her finders/fosters have allowed us some time to figure out her personality and get her vetted, but when she was found they were a family of four living in the upstairs of their Harvey-affected home with four dogs and several cats. Then one of her foster parents unfortunately passed away just days before Christmas.
Do you have room for this young energetic girl in your life?? Please let us know or submit an application at forgottendogs.org/foster/application or forgottendogs.org/adopt/application - Thank you!!
