Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello and Happy New Year’s everyone I would like to introduce myself my name is #SophiaBPFF....I am the newest member of the Barky Pines family...and I would like to share my story with you...well like hundreds of pups...one day...I wandered off my property...I didn’t have any idea where I was headed...but I just kept on going...after a little while...I realized I was lost...and I got really really nervous...I tried to make my way back home...but it was too late..I wondered how long it would be before my family noticed I was missing...would they worry about me...would they come looking for me..I couldn’t believe this was happening...all I did was take a little walk...then...someone spotted me...and they were kind enough to stop and help..they couldn‘t believe such a tiny pup would be off wandering around alone...who would let their little one get away from them....they saw I had no identification tag on me...although I do have a collar with a tiny bell...they had no way to tell where I belonged...soooo they did the right thing and the took me to Animal Care and Control...that’s where you take pups and kitties you find...they took me right in and.. processed me...they scanned me only to find...I didn’t have a microchip...how on earth would my family ever find me...would they come looking for me here I wondered...after they took my picture they gave me a necklace with numbers on it...they brought me in to see the doctor...and they said I have something called luxated patellas...I didn’t know what that meant...but it sounded scary...they told me that hundreds of little ones like me get that...and that’s what makes our legs look crooked..and sometimes we walk funny...but I get along just fine I thought...they also said I needed to be fixed...oh my goodness how can I be broken too...too many things seemed to be wrong with me I thought what will they do now? Well they assured me that being fixed wasn’t all that bad...and that every pup and kitty that comes through ACC must be fixed...soooo it wasn’t just meeee...I felt a whole lot better...sooo after a few days...I was fixed...and I also had some teeth pulled cause I have dental disease as well...that’s what happens to older pups when they don’t get their teeth cleaned....I got to rest that afternoon ...they were all so kind to me at ACC....they couldn’t believe that a little tiny pup like me wasn’t claimed....they couldn’t believe that no one cared enough...to call and see if I was brought there....my heart was breaking that my family...never came to find me...I felt abandoned by everyone I ever loved....I felt so sad and all alone.....but they told me not to worry that they were going to send out a rescue request and see who would be able to help.... it was just yesterday...on New Year’s Eve afternoon when they sent it out....and you already know...who answered that email right away...it was aunt Liz from Barky Pines...she said yes.....yes she could and yes she would...and before you knew it...I met her sister aunt Mary...she drove to ACC to pick me up...they carried me out to her my tiny bed with a cozy blanket...and when aunt Mary saw me...she couldn’t believe what a peanut I am...she had a warm welcoming smile on her face...and when she picked me up....bed and all...I felt secure....and safe.....she told me not to worry little one... that she was going to take me out to her families farm...where I would meet aunt Liz and uncle Steve....and that they would take wonderful care of me...and I would celebrate the New Year...in the loving home...of Barky Farms...and off we went...for that long drive out to the country....and then we arrived...I saw soooo many happy animals running and playing all around the farm...cows...chickens...ducks geese...and a piglet named Oliver.....I finally got to meet aunt Liz...she had that same warm loving smile on her face...she said that I was absolutely beautiful...and she welcomed me and held me in her arms...I was sooo very happy at that moment... my fears ..are almost gone...here I am with this family who loves all their animals like they do their very own...she brought me over to meet uncle Steve...he too smiled that warm smile...and my heart just about melted...he opened his jacket...and I crawled inside...and felt his heart beating....and I knew this is where I belong....after a few minutes they brought me in to meet my new roommates...cause I am sooo tiny only 4 pounds...I’m staying with their little little ones....they brought my bed and blanket in there...and all my new friends came to meet me one by one they sniffed and wagged tails...and I knew...that I was welcomed into their pack...they let me settle in with my new friends...and later on when they came to check on us all...I was cozied up in my bed...I woke up this morning...and thanked God...that I am safe and secure...and most of all...in the loving home...of Barky Farms...I would like to tell you a little bit about me... I am 9 years old...I weight 4 lbs...I am up to date on all my shots...including my rabies vaccine...I have been fixed...and now I have a microchip...if you or anyone you know may be looking for an older pup...I just might be the answer to your prayers....I am hoping for a loving forever home...where my family...would never let me wander off...a family...who would care enough...to keep me safe....well I better get going.... thank you for reading my story...I hope you all have a healthy and happy new year...I know that mine is off to a beautiful start...thank you all for caring...and especially...for sharing...your friend...Sophia...woof woof
