My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A sweet and friendly golden retriever female wandered into a home where she was taken in, fed, and loved.  As it turned out, the retriever was pregnant.  The family wanted to help her, but they knew that they couldn't keep all of the puppies.  They didn't want to hand them out randomly either.  Someone told them about ARF, so they called.  The momma had given birth to eleven babies, and two of the grandchildren had been promised puppies, leaving nine babies -- four boys and five girls.  Since ARF couldn't afford to board the puppies until they were old enough to go to rescue and the foster family was taking excellent care of them, we agreed that the babies would stay with them until they were rescued.  The foster mom is a nurse and had already treated the mom and babies for worms at Jackson Animal Clinic on 11/29/17.  ARF provided Duramune-Max 5 shots for them, which she gave on 12/13/17, the day the babies were six weeks old.  The foster parents have been careful to avoid disease (making family members wash their hands and clean their shoes before coming into the puppy area of the house).  The babies have been using puppy pads since they were 5 weeks old, so housetraining shouldn't be difficult.  They have been socialized.  The family didn't name the babies, for they have avoided bonding with the ones they were not keeping.  ARF, however, has named the babies: The four boys are #1, Gus; #2, Kramer; #3, Royce; #4, Ozzy.  The girls are #5, Shawnee, #6, Sunny; #7, Mystic; #8, Jazzy; #9, Ava.  An application has been received from one of the vet techs at Jackson Animal Clinic for one of the girls.  The other puppies will go to our trusted rescues.  Puppies will have a vet check on 12/27/17 and we hope they are as healthy as they look.  What nice little babies they are!
