Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We know this face is very cute, but Kanga is looking for a very special home to call his own. Please read his bio completely before applying or considering adoption.
Kanga has been waiting a long time for his perfect person — has he been waiting for you?
Kanga is selective with his people and his furry friends — he is an independent type, but if he likes you, he shows this with a “husky-like” talking & barking, or playing — boy, does he ever love to run! He does have leash reactivity when he sees other dogs on occasion, so this will be something his people will need to work on. He also feels insecure when he encounters very bossy, pushy or dominant dogs, but who wouldn’t! So his family should be paw-rents who hand-pick his friends and play-dates, rather than a dog park.
Kanga would to best with an adult only home. He LOVES his walks, and would love a jogging or biking partner, or even a hiking partner. Kanga is quite high energy, so he is looking for a fun an active family, maybe even one with a yard or large property to enjoy! He also loves his toys! Without mental and physical stimulation, Kanga becomes bored and will not want to go into his crate, so he is looking for a family that will give him all the exercise & fun he craves!
This beautiful boy has a very tolerant temperament, but can be a little bossy with less assertive handlers so someone with dog experience, especially Husky breed experience would be ideal! Kanga is also very smart, so he may also be an amazing candidate for someone looking to do agility or another fun K9 sport. Kanga has two nicknames: Jenga (because of how clever he is), and Kangaroo (because he can jump a 5ft fence)!
Ideal home: With an active person that has dog experience, or is husky and shepherd breed savvy.
Breed: Golden Retriever x Saluki
Colour: Golden boy
Age: 2 years old
Size: Medium, about 40 pounds
Sex: Male, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped
House trained: Yes
Crate trained: Working on it! – I can be noisy at first if not given enough exercise, so an apartment may not be suited for me, but I settle into my crate eventually. I would really appreciate more crate training in my forever home.
Loose-leash trained: Yes
Commands: I am very smart! I know “sit”, “down”, “shake a paw”, “crate” and “go lay down”, but would love to continue to practice & learn new things!
Dogs: No, thank you! I am selective and choose my friends wisely.
Cats: No, thank you!
Children: No, thank you!
