My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5/10/20 - ADOPTION PENDING!
Adoption Fee: $100
Fostered in Shreveport, Louisiana
Age: 12 years
Weight: 8.6 lbs.

1/27/20 - Kobe is doing great and acts younger than some of the youngsters in his foster home. He is a sweetheart of a little guy. He does have cushings and takes Trilostane twice daily for this condition. This medicine runs approximately $90 per month. If this is something that you are able to do, Kobe is definitely worth it.

6/20/19 - Kobe has recently changed foster homes due to some emergency medical issues in his previous foster home. To our surprise, he walked in like he had always been there and is doing great. Loves sleeping in the bed with foster mom and the other pups, eats well, loves going outside for some sun and has taken a liking to one of the female dogs in the home. He is constantly licking her ears and loving on her. Seems Kobe has found himself a girlfriend.

Kobe does have cushings which is maintained by his medicine Vetoryl (Trilostane) 5 mg, 1 pill twice daily. He definitely doesn't act like a 12 year old. He eyesight might be wearing, but he sees just fine and likes to be all in your business. We know that there is a home out there that wants this handsome young man to love on and watch tv with. Just be ready for kisses, because this one can't hold his licker!

10/31/18 - I was going to dress up for Halloween, but could not decide what I wanted to be. So I'm going trick or treating as..... a Yorkie. I know, that's smart.

Foster mom brought me to the dogtor recently because I had started to drink more than normal and was always hungry. They ran some tests and found out that I have cushings. They are starting me on some daily medication and this should help. The dogtor said that Cushings doesn't go away, but my medicine will help keep it under control. I guess with age comes issues. But, I'm still cute and smart, so if you are in the market for a best friend that just happens to take daily medicine, why don't you fill out an application for me.

Ok, time to trick or treat.

1/14/18 - I was born July 7, 2007. True to the Cancer zodiac sign, I have always naturally been in tune with my feelings and the feelings of those around me. I carry a positive friendly aura and settle well in most environments and relationships. I am very loyal and care very deeply about matters of family. This is exactly why I did not understand why after my human mom passed away, the family put me and my siblings outside to live in the backyard. This is a time when family pulls together, but apparently they did not get the memo. Thank goodness another family member scooped me up and called Yorkie Haven Rescue, so, here I am at 10.5 years old, starting over and looking for love again.

I am settling in quite nicely at my foster home. Foster mom & dad have two other furbabies and for the most part, we seem to do ok. I have to admit, I would love to be an only pet since I absolutely adore being adored and want all the attention and do get jealous. Lol, I want to be with my human all the time where ever they are. I don’t start anything with the other pups, but know how to take up for myself should the need arise.

It seems the one thing my previous family knew how to do was feed me, so I’m a tad overweight. I’m on a diet now and even though this doesn’t please me, I’m fine knowing that it will be better for me and my knees. I love all people and am very social with humans. I do seem to pick one person in the home to get the most attached to though. I sleep in bed with my foster parents and snuggle between foster mom and dad and it is sooo nice!

I’m doing well in the potty department, but will probably have accidents at first when I move again. Even though I’m old and a little wider than tall, I really enjoy going for a walk. If you so much as pick up the leash, I’m ready and waiting. I like to sit with and by my humans all the time. I do need help getting up and down since I don’t jump so well. I tend to lose control of my licker at times. Ha Ha! I love giving kisses and, at times, will just take to licking your hand or leg if we are just sitting watching television. It’s a yorkie thing. I’m not a huge barker, but will speak if I hear something that alerts or bothers me. I have the first signs of cataracts, but see quite well.

I seem to be pretty good with all household noises except the vacuum cleaner. I try to make this a game and like to attack it. Since I need to keep the teeth I have, it might be best to put me in another room when vacuuming.

Even though I fall in love very easily with my humans, do not mistake that for me not darting out of a door if you open it without picking me up or putting me up first. I tend to have a little explorer in me and I will go explore. That being said, small children in the home with a lot of activity would not be a good idea. I also get underfoot a lot, so a human not so stable on their feet would not be a good idea either.

RECAP: I need new parents; I am very clingy; I sleep well at night; I eat well; I’d really enjoy being an only dog or with another that doesn’t need a lot of attention; I get underfoot; I am very sweet and love all humans, and I need new parents. I know I said that twice, but it is actually the most important part. So, look at this face, fall in love and apply for me! Please!
