Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sully is a storm survivor who came up from St Croix to escape the mess that was left by Hurricane Maria. He rode out the storm with his foster mom and she said it was a truly frightening experience for them both. The shelter on the island was obliterated and the people there are busy just trying to put their lives back together so no one is really thinking about adopting a dog right now. So because of that, Sully arrived here in Laguardia (which is a MESS right now by the way). He is in a foster home with several other pets and he is doing very well with them. His current foster mom keeps telling me what a super dog he is and how lucky whomever adopts him will be. While he arrived here in November, we thought he had a home waiting however at the VERY last minute, we got a message that the couple changed their minds (people, please make sure you are ready to adopt before we go thru the trouble of contacting your references and making all the arrangements on our side. It's not fair to us or the dog, who then lost out on several potential homes while we waited for someone to make up their minds. Very frustrating)!
Anyway, back to Sully, he is about 5 years old and weighs between 25-30 pounds (at least he did when he was at the vet for his neuter - let's see how ell his foster mom has been feeding him)! He is vaccinated and microchipped. And quite honestly, we are totally guessing on his breeds - no guarantees. Sully has a very pleasant personality and it's now time to find him a permanent home.
Please keep in mind that Sully does have one annoying habit - he is a runner. The moment he sees the door open an inch, he will make a dash for it. So Sully needs a home where his guardians will be uber-vigilent about any open doors or gates. No kids running in and out, no holding open the door to grab the mail, no dragging in groceries without knowing where the dog is. It would probably be best that you have a super secure fence. This guy has the wandering gene.
