Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please welcome wonderful Winston, who wants his new family to know these 10 things about him:
1. I am Cane Corso and I am about 4.5 years old.
2. I CAN’T GO TO A HOME THAT DOESN’T HAVE EXTENSIVE BREED EXPERIENCE. It’s super important that my forever family understands me, and why I do the things that I do. The people at the Bullpen are very serious about this, and will not consider applications from unqualified individuals.
3. Like many dogs of my breed, I can be wary of strangers, and I need to be introduced to new people and visitors slowly. A busy house is NOT for me.
4. I get nervous when I am in new or unfamiliar situations, and I need a knowledgeable handler to help me build confidence.
5. I have lived with other dogs and if I am allowed to meet my new family’s canines slowly through proper introductions, I think I could learn to cohabitate with them again. My ideal home would have a giant or large breed female that was laid-back and liked to play, but I also wouldn’t mind being the only pooch in the home.
6. I am really interested in cats in all the wrong ways, and I don’t think I could be trusted to live in a feline-friendly home.
7. My first family had older children, and we got along fine, although I would really prefer a home that was on the quieter side. Routines and schedules make me feel more secure, and I get a little out-of-sorts when my environment is loud or chaotic.
8. I am extremely athletic and love to run and explore in the yard. If my new people wanted to take me on long hikes or with them on daily jogs, I would be in hog heaven! I am also a very smart dog, and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to have a “job.”
9. I am good on a leash, housebroken, and crate-trained plus I know how to use a dog door!
10. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped, HW- and neutered.
Ready to give Winston the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
**We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.**
