Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Goldie was rescued from the Detroit Animal Shelter where she was taken in from a hoarding case. She was always loved and never abused however she had no social skills with humans and can be awkward when meeting new dogs. But after she is comfortable she is the sweetest thing ever and just loves others! She loves the companionship of other dogs but can be a little 'all in their face' with the licks and kisses and literally relentless with her attention to them! She just has so much love to give and wants them all to know!
Goldie is still very shy in new situations but has come a long way to be the brave girl she is now :)
Goldie is fostered with a 9 year old child and loves her dearly, she lights up when she is in the room. A home with (walking age) children would be great for her because she just adores them. She would also need a home that is patient and understanding to know that this sweet girl, at only 38lbs, is very sweet and loving but just shy and the silliest things will sometimes make her nervous... Like doorways :( She would be best fit for a home who would not expect her to take on the world right away and would allow her time and patience as she settles into living life.. she currently is not a big adventure lover but more of a home body dog who loves the comforts of her house :)
Her adoption process would be slightly slower and we would require a few home visits to ensure she is comfortable. But we promise she will be worth it! She has a huge following of supporters who cannot wait to see her happy ending!
Adoption Process: Anyone interested in meeting our adoptables must complete an online application, which is located on our website. Once the application is approved we will set up a meet and greet with the animal to ensure a good fit and then before adoption is complete we will schedule a home check to ensure a safe environment for the animal you are looking to adopt. We do not do on-the-spot adoptions and we do not adopt out animals by a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to fit everyone of our animals to the best match possible!
