Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Apollo (was Jordan) has come back to rescue thru no fault of his own. He has settled in well in his foster home and enjoys the company of the other female Dane in the House. Apollo is definitely the alpha male and takes over the show with his silly faces and playful nature. He is extremely affectionate; you can see his emotions in all his hilarious faces. He’s VERY smart! I seriously think he knows English! If he doesn’t agree with your command he will mumble back at you and it’s really hard to not laugh. It’s so stinkn cute. He is very well trained but needs to be reminded at times because he can get stubborn. He knows all the simple commands like sit, down and stay. He is house broken and will let you know when he wants to go out. He doesn’t eat anything he shouldn’t and isn’t destructive. He is crate trained but is also fine to stay in a confined area while we are at work.
Apollo has a blanket obsession and only takes the one he knows is his. He’ll walk around the house with his blanket in tow. It’s so cute. He loves to play just as much as he loves to sleep. He walks fantastic on a lead and stops traffic (literally) with his handsome stride. He will pull and bark when he sees other dogs. That’s work in progress. Given that he still needs some work on his manners there will be a training requirement as part of his adoption.
Apollo requires special attention during feeding and needs specific easy digestion dog food. His bowl needs to be elevated to head height (we use a tall bar stool) to feed him. He has a slow feeder which he gets 1 cup at a time (3 cups total) with 4 breaks while eating that 1 cup. Feeding this handsome boy can take about 20 min. Twice a day. This is a commitment that will need to be met to keep him healthy. It’s extremely easy just takes a bit of time and understanding to make sure he gets proper nutrition. He has been tested for Mega-Esophagus and it has been ruled out, it is thought this is more of a reflux issue. He is food motivated and will do anything for peanut butter and milk bones! Jordan will quickly find a place in your home and in your heart.
