My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sparky is a 10 year old, 15 pound apricot sable minature poodle. He is a true poodle. Aloof with strangers. Playful, goofy and very attached to his person.
Sparky was purchased for a newly widowed mother by her loving son. The Mom was lonely and Sparky gave her a new zest for life. Unfortunately The Mom was already in her 80's and an active puppy tended to get his own way a lot of the time.
Sadly when his precious owner was in failing health, Her daughter moved in and sent Sparky outside to live as she despised animals. Due to the abuse and neglect Sparky had at her hands he is not trustful of women in the 55-65 age range.
Sparky has shown food aggression in the past. Feeding in a crate and crating Sparky during meal times has avoided all food issues in his foster home.
Sparky gets along with dog respectful children, adults save for women aged 55-65, the elderly, other dogs of similar activity levels.
Sparky is very interested cats in a bad way. He will chase them and nip at them. He would do best in a cat free home.
Sparky is house trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, rides well in car, and knows basic commands (but will ignore you until he respects you as his human).
He is low to medium energy and would be happy in an apartment, condo, or a home.

This dog is located in a foster home in East Tennessee. The adoption fee is $350 and covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm preventative, and a health certificate. If transport to a pick up location near you is required, there is an additional fee not more than $150 depending upon the distance.
