Maggie is a lovely, approximately 2 year old, German shepherd dog. She is a nice size at about 60 pounds. When she came to us she was quite thin and we are still trying to add a few pounds to her frame.
We have so many good things to say about Maggie. She is housetrained, crate trained, okay with most other dogs, and is affectionate with her people. We do not know how Maggie is with cats, but suspect she would chase them. Maggie rides well in the car in a crate. She an energetic dog and will need daily exercise, but settles nicely in the house, too.
In addition to being active, she is also very smart! Maggie can scale a 4 foot fence and will do so to come looking for you, so cannot be left outdoors when you are not home.
We do not know how Maggie is with young children, so if you have them in your life this probably is not the dog for you. We suspect Maggie would be okay with older, well behaved children.
Maggie has not had much obedience training and will need someone committed to helping her learn basic obedience and loose leash walking. We would highly recommend a class.
She went to our groomer today and they said she did not want her nails trimmed. Nail trimming will need to be worked on with her new family as it is important to canine overall health.
Maggie's adoption fee is $225. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. She will come with a collar and ID tag.
