Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Missy May is a sweet-hearted dog. She is super smart and a love. She is about 3-4 years old, around 14 inches tall and about 19 lbs of lean muscle.
She is very gentle and loving. Little Missy was ignored when she was a pup and is cautious at first meet. She has learned to warm up and that people will give her love if she allows them to. When Missy got into foster care she wouldn’t let her foster mom touch her but here we are months later and she jumps up on her foster mom's lap at night to sit and get love while they watch a movie together. Missy likes to be scratched and play with toys. She will follow you around the house very enthusiastically looking for the next thing to do in her day.
She has learned to walk on ok a leash but needs more training in that area to help her not be afraid. Missy needs a yard in her new home since she isn't so great on the leash. She is good in the car where she rides in a portable crate to stay safe in case of an accident. She is house trained with few accidents but needs access to the yard.
Missy lives with 5 other dogs and 3 of them are female JRTs and avoids the drama. She sleeps in her crate at night with the gate open and stays in there all night long. In the morning she comes upon her foster mom's bed to snooze a bit and give nose kisses.
Missy will need time to settle into her forever home and it could take a couple of months for that to happen but she is worth it because there is not a kinder-hearted sweet dog you could ask for. She is a special little one who is a real keeper for an individual or family. Missy will chase cats so none in her home please and she should go to a home with no young children who can scare her. We think teens and up would be best for this shy but loving girl.
Missy needs a canine companion in her home unless her people are around for her during the day. She would not do well alone for a full work day since she would feel abandoned.
Missy May’s adoption fee is $275.00 and she is being fostered in San Francisco, CA.
All our dogs are in private foster homes and arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received.
