Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Murphy! I am around 1 years old. I was found running around Lafayette Park in Downtown Detroit. DPD tried to catch me but couldn't. I was very afraid of humans, but finally came to a nice person who allowed me to play with their dog and shared food and water with me. I LOVE playing with other dogs, but would prefer to have all the attention to myself, as I am very needy. I know sometimes other dogs do not like when I hog attention from the humans and would not want to cause a fight with siblings. I am very energetic so I need someone or a family that can keep up with me. My fosters don't know much about my past, but I do have some scars (but know chicks dig scars). I am heart worm negative and only had some stomach parasites which have been taken care since. I was a little thin when first rescued but have since put on weight and graduated to eating out of a normal bowl (not one of those slow eating ones), even though I do still eat quickly. I love food.... I did learn how to sit and wait though before eating and practice everyday. I am also crate trained and have to be in the crate when you are not home because when I am not supervised I like chew things that I do not realize aren't toys. At night time though, I like to snuggle in bed with you but do know when I am not allowed to be on the bed and can sleep on my dog bed. I really prefer to be on the bed, more accurately on your pillow or snuggled on you. My foster mom says I am a great space heater for her. I am a lap dog and some call me a little big dog. I only weigh 45lbs but am short to the ground, and will crawl onto your lap if you let me. I love to go out to patios for drinks or food with my foster fam. I am very well behaved out. I do not bark unless I hear random weird noises in the middle of the night, but I do not randomly bark. I am leash trained with the correct collar/harness, and love "walking myself" by carrying the leash in my mouth sometimes. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application below. I can't wait to have a furever home!
