Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing Alfie!! Alife is a 1 year old Brittany Spaniel/Beagle cross (we know that for sure because he had a DNA test done), although he looks larger in the pictures the guy only weights about 25lbs, small stature and long legs.
Alfie, is looking for a very specific home. He was surrendered to us for fear biting his owners. We know that Alfie lived the first 6 months of his life with very little human contact and then was surrendered to the shelter which was a very overwhelming experience for him. Luckily for Alfie, a nice couple came along and adopted him, even put him though heart worm treatment. If it hadn't been for this nice couple, Alife wouldn't be here today. Unfortunately, for Alfie, he hasn't been able to overcome his fear, and will bite if he feels cornered and overwhelmed and for this reason (his previous owner had children)he was surrendered to us. What we've learned about Alfie is that he will bond fairly quickly with a new person if they are patient with him. Alfie is currently in a foster home and very quickly he began to trust his foster mom and became comfortable. Truly he is a very affectionate and loving dog.
He gets along great with other dogs, they actually seem to help him feel comfortable. Alfie is looking for a very specific foster or permanent home that will be very patient with him, and without children. Someone who has experience with a wonderful but fearful, anxious dog would be ideal.
f you are interested in adding Alfie to your family, please go to www.hcwdogrescue.com/adoptionapplication and complete an application.
