Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elmo, who arrived at the shelter on 10/13/17, is already a volunteer fave. He's pretty much the perfect cat, especially for a home with other cats and/or children. He's just incredibly sweet, loves everyone who so much as looks his way, is submissive to the other shelter cats, enjoys toys, and especially enjoys treats. He waits for us to just look at him and say, "Elmo, how 'bout a kiss," and then happily comes our way to get affection. Elmo always has an ear keened to his humans so that he's ready when it's his turn for pets and kisses. His test results with a shelter dog were mixed -- a bit anxious, ready to defend himself if necessary, but not aggressive, so he might be fine with a gentle old dog or a small dog that is not very active, one he wouldn't find too threatening. He gets along well other cats, and would probably love to be in a home where he can be adored by children.
Elmo is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
