Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Trixie came to us as a discarded puppy mill/backyard breeder mother. She arrived with Layla covered in filth and fleas. Trixie also had lumps on a few of her mammary glands.
Trixie is a mellow gentle soul who craves attention. She is kind to little children. Loves all people. And gets along with other dogs and cats after proper introductions. Trixie is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, and is good for grooming and vetting. She is an absolute love who enjoys wandering in a fenced yard, laying beside her person on the sofa, and car rides.
Trixie is eight years old, spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and dewormer and deflead. We had surgery done to remove as many of her mammary gland tumors as possible. Her bloodwork came back as normal, so we are optimistic about her health. We do not know how long she has due to the tumors she had acquired, so we are looking for a special home who wants to enjoy a potential special needs dog for her twilight years. Currently Trixie is in great health, but it is likely that some of her tumors will regrow. She is such a wonderful dog with such a sad past that she certainly deserves to enjoy as many happy days as possible. Are you that special someone that will be the jewel of her eye?
This dog is currently located in East Tennessee. Our adoption process requires completion of an adoption application (found here: http://sodoa.weebly.com/apply.html), a phone interview, and then transport of the dog to a pick up location near you. The adoption fee is $350 plus transport costs (up to $150). Each dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested microchipped, and given heartworm and flea preventative.
