Arrival story: Ella was found walking on the side of a busy expressway. After searching for Ella’s family and finding them, she was surrendered. Through a Waggin’ Tails volunteer, Ella found her way into our rescue group and foster home. Upon intake, she was Heartworm positive and needed treatment. She has since gone through treatment and is now Heartworm free!
Approximate age / Weight: Approx. 2 years / 56 lbs.
Personality: Ella is a super smart little girl and loves attention. She enjoys being around her humans, going on walks and chewing on bully sticks and other toys/bones. Ella is house-trained, so we do not crate her during the day and can be left alone for several hours. Ella loves to meet new people and has welcomed strangers (to her) into our home. She is still working on her manners and will jump up when excited. Ella knows basic commands, but could benefit long-term from training classes. She will bark if she hears a noise or to let you know if she wants to go outside. Ella is a darter, so when exiting the car or opening a door, beware she can sneak her way out. Ella will need a fenced in yard.
Ella is a big fan of being outside and pools. She loves to explore and go for walks. She is treat motivated and knows basic commands including “shake”! Ella enjoys chewing on bones or Kongs and likes to play with puzzle toys to keep her mind strong.
Forever home: Ella is very active and would like a family of her own that will take her on walks and maybe even hikes! She has not yet been around cats or children and has had limited exposure to other dogs. Ella loves belly rubs, walks and chewing on bully sticks, bones and Kongs.
