My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He is a very sweet and playful pup. He is protective/guarding when initially meeting strangers but settles in quickly. He is a bit jumpy and will require ongoing training through his puppy years. Guinness can at times resource guard so will need his new family to be familiar with this trait and know how to handle it when it comes up.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Privacy Fence No young/small children Experienced Handler Ongoing Training and Socialization Guinness is a very loving, sweet guy once he gets to know you and trust you. He has some resource guarding issues so an experienced handler is what this guy is looking for. He LOVES to play all day with his canine siblings and doesnt bother with the cats.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our pets for adoption, please complete an application.

Once the application has been reviewed we will contact you for a meet and greet and proceed with the adoption from there. We do have an adoption agreement that must be signed and adhered to in order to finalize the adoption. Our standard adoption fee is $200.00 dependent on the animals needs. We also do home visits and follow up visits and enjoy hearing from our adopters to let us know how their newest family member has settled in. We are available at any time for any questions or concerns regarding an animal that has been adopted from us.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue which means all of our fosters are placed in homes until they find their families. We make every effort possible to schedule meet and greets for families interested in one of our adoptable pets once the application has been reviewed and approved in a timely fashion.

More about this rescue

Our primary focus is to rescue death row dogs from the local county pound. These dogs are dogs that are picked up as strays or surrendered by their owners. Thousands of dogs die each and every day because their owners no longer want them or can no longer care for them.

The dogs that PetResQ Ohio takes in are very special dogs. These dogs have been deemed unadoptable for a variety of reasons and are set to be euthanized either by the shelters of which they reside or by their prior owners. When we take in a dog, they become part of our family, our pack, where they will be cared for and loved until they find a home where they can live happily ever after.

All of our dogs are in our home where we can observe and evaluate their behaviors with people, other dogs and cats. We try to know everything we can about the dogs so that we can match them up with a good solid potential adopter who will know in advance the lifestyle and environment the dog will most likely succeed in.

All of our dogs are fully vetted and receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative medications.

We are very particular in matching up our dogs with perspective adopters as each of our dogs are very unique and require a very specific home environment. Although the potential adopters may be wonderful dog owners, if we do not feel that the placement is a good match, we will not proceed with the adoption. We will however work with the interested parties in helping them to find a good match if they so desire. We take our rescues very seriously and these dogs become part of our family when they enter the rescue. They have been failed by humans in the past and we want to ensure that they won’t be again.

Please remember to be responsible and spay or neuter your pet today=)
