My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sherman was adopted to a home with two Labs but was returned after a few days because he was getting into spats with the other dogs and his new owner was worried he would get hurt.
This spunky little fellow was found as a stray on the North Shore so we know nothing about his history and are using the vet's best guestimate about his age.
The vet thought Sherman was approximately 6 years old, but he may be older. As you can see from his "before" picture, his hair was so badly matted and dirty when he was found and he had to be shaved down. After his recent bath he feels much better and we think he will be very handsome when his fur has grown back. We don't know how he is with children or cats since we don't know his background, but he likes both of the small female dogs in our care. He is eager to bond with people and has the most endearing personality. He seems to be housebroken.

Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
