Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dallas came to our rescue several months ago as an owner surrender due to his having heartworm disease and the owner unable to pay for/unwilling to treat the disease. Dallas has been neutered, fully vaccinated (including Lyme and CIV), had extensive bloodwork and x-rays and been treated for his heartworm disease. We expect NO long-term effects from this disease. He MUST, however, be kept on heartworm prevention for the remainder of his life so that he doesn't contract it again.
Dallas is approximately 2-1/2 years old and full of energy. He is extremely devoted to his humans and is a typical "velcro" ACD. He listens well and is fully housebroken. He gets along very well with his 9 year old foster ACD brother as well as 3 cats he lives with. He would do best with an ACD or other herding breed-savvy person who wants a companion for running, agility or other dog sports, as he has a lot of energy to burn off.
Dallas knows basic commands and is very willing to please his person; however, further work with walking on a leash and basic obedience would be helpful for him. He is very food-motivated and learns quickly.
