My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BOOTS
Medium Hair Brown Tabby with White Chest/Feet
Approximately 2-3 years old

About a year ago, a little long-haired stray tabby with little white feet showed up at our door looking for food. We just couldn’t tell her no, so we started feeding her. She began to make regular appearances morning and night, often meeting us when we got home from work. She was always shy and stand-offish, but started warming up to us, at least when food was around. When winter came, she didn’t have any interest in going in the cold weather cat shelter we had created for her. So, we cracked our garage and bought a space heater to keep it warm. Ever since then, she has spent most every night in our garage.

Unfortunately, we already have four cats in a very small home and there is no way we can take her in as a fifth. Due to complaints in the neighborhood, we are no longer allowed to feed her and are afraid she has become too accustomed to being fed by humans to go back out on her own. So we made the decision to bring her into the garage where we could keep feeding her and try to find her a home.

Since then, although still uncomfortable with being picked up, she loves to wrap herself around our feet and purr any time we are with her. We are hoping to find someone who is willing to take a chance on giving her a forever home. I’ve tried to capture a few photos of her when she slows down long enough to let me. If anyone is interested in taking a chance on little Boots, please call or text Jeremy at 256-683-8197. Thank you!
