Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hendrix is a beautiful medium-sized two-year-old Pittie mix who came to us about a year ago with something obviously very wrong. After extensive testing and visits at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, we discovered he had an enlarged heart and was in congestive heart failure. With this prognosis we weren't sure how long of a life he would have but we knew this guy deserved to live out his remaining time in comfort, whether it be weeks or months. He has lived much longer than his vets thought was possible.
Hendrix graduated from puppy school and knows commands. He loves easy short walks (he tires quickly and has breathing problems due to his medical condition) and gets along well with just about every dog he meets. Hendricks loves to chew on his bones and hang out in the yard, he's a sweet easy presence.
The adoption fee on Hendrix is negotiable and will be discussed with potential adopters as he will need to be on medicine the rest of his life.
The first step to adopt Hendrix is to read all about adoption with Happy Tails Rescue Inc. and fill out an application. If we think your home sounds like a good fit we'll be in touch. Click here to go to our web site: www.happytailsrescueinc.org/adoption-available-dogs

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Northwest Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
