My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shelly Sheltie is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs about 25 pounds. She is a marvelous young lady who loves to cuddle and prefers to stay close to her humans. If you put Shelly outside and do not stay with her she will climb most fences trying to get back inside with you so you must either have a fence Shelly cannot climb or be willing to walk her on her lead several times a day, both would be wonderful!

Her disposition is such that she would do well in an apartment. While she is at bit shy at first she quickly warms up to anyone willing to be gentle with her and give her the attention she craves. Shelly is not a girl that enjoys rough housing with people but loves to play with other dogs. She is a very gentle little lady and prefers lying next to you while you read or watch TV. Shelly would prefer a quiet household and although she likes children we will not adopt her out to a home with children under 8 years old due to her size and her nature. She would be a wonderful companion for an older person or couple and seems to prefer women to men at first.

Shelly sleeps in my bed and rests on the back of my couch to see out the window. .She does enjoy her toys very much and prefers rather small, stuffed ones she can carry easily.

Shelly is housebroken, will use a potty pad if she cannot go out to potty, uses a doggie door, is crate trained and loves to go for rides.. She has a low maintenance coat and is easy to care for. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. Shelly's adoption donation is $125.00. Her love and companionship is priceless.

Shelly is currently located in Edmonton, KY (1 1/2 hours south of Louisville, KY, and 1 1/2 hours north of Nashville, TN.) She can also travel to the right home almost anywhere in the country if you are willing to help with transportation. Visitation by appointment. Hours are extremely flexible.
