Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!
Meet Fendi, just a year old yorkie mix who was rescued from a kill shelter in CA. Fendi is a small girl weighing about 8 lbs. She's a very sweet girl that loves attention and is very social. She loves to snuggle in your lap in the evening to watch a show.
She's ok with dogs when out playing in the yard, but would do best in a home as an only dog. She will guard her food from other dogs (not from people) since she likely came from an environment where she wasn't provided enough to eat (so if you do have another dog, she would have to be fed separately). She prefers to have your lap to herself and does not like to share with other dogs. Her foster mom is working with her on this, but we like to be transparent. There are no cats in her foster home so we can not comment on how she is with cats. She does very well with the kids in her foster home (middle school and high school aged) and is a very friendly girl with people. A fenced in yard is preferred because that is what she is used to.
We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time.
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html
Our adoption fees are on our application.
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.
We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
