SABLE is a Hurricane Harvey refugee. She comes to us from Livingston, Texas. She was at the shelter prior to the hurricane and was cleared for adoption before the weather hit. SABLE and many of her shelter pals had to be moved out of the shelter to make room for animals displaced by the hurricane.
SABLE is a pittie/boxer mix, about 45 pounds, 4 years old. So far she is good with most other dogs and children. She is not cat tested at this time, but we suspect she would be cat-friendly.
We are so lucky to have her with us. She is so sweet and gentle. According to shelter staff, she was a favorite and was given some freedom to hang out in the office with the staff during business hours. She is still adjusting to her new life in Tennessee. She's a little shy but is coming around quickly.
SABLE is respectful in her foster home and enjoys stuffed toys. Careful, though, she can destroy them quickly, so she needs her family to keep on her for safety. She is a easygoing and content to follow her person from room to room and nap nearby. While she doesn't like to be crated initially, she seems to settle in nicely after she has been placed inside. Her foster family will continue to work with her on this so she will enter the crate easily. She walks OK on a leash.
SABLE is up to date on shots, spayed, on prevention and heartworm negative. She has had a wellness check as well and is microchipped.
