BJ was taken from an extremely overcrowded animal control facility that puts dogs down when they need space. At that facility BJ sat proudly and quietly in his kennel while other dogs were bouncing off the walls. His eyes alone drew us to him. Then his temperament: calm, respectful and warm. On his ride to our rescue location BJ came forward from the backseat only to gently kiss a total stranger to him, a passenger pup sitting in the front seat.
Once BJ arrived to our rescue he proved himself to be a stellar creature. He was quarantined with another dog from that shelter whose playful behavior was nipping and annoying. BJ was consistently patient with her. When she would nip his ear instead of growling or biting back, he would just turn his head again and again to protect his ear. Although she was overly zealous in play, laid back BJ not once showed her disrespect. He's a supreme leader of the pack.
Depriving any dog of good nutrition deprives him of living a long and healthy life. Grain-free foods are what a dog needs and deserves. Rotate manufacturers.
