Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Riley! Riley is a Malberian - her Mom is a Siberian Husky, her Dad an Alaskan Malamute. Riley is just 7 months old (born December 16th 2016). Riley was part of an accidental litter and is in need of a home, as is her sister Gabby. Riley is a very sweet girl and very playful. She seems to have inherited more of her malamute dad's temperament as she has a more calm demeanor, but it also means she would do best with a male companion. She is also showing a bit of a prey drive, so homes without cats or smaller dogs would be best. We are working on Riley's crate training. She seems to do OK as long as no one is home when she's crated, but if someone is, you will hear about her displeasure.

Adopting a Malamute is a serious commitment, requiring both financial stability and consistent living arrangements. IAMRA does not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Although we rarely adopt to persons under 25, these applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis
We require that you fill out our Adoption Application on our website, www.iamra.org, if you are interested in adopting. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, about our policies in general, or specific dogs available, once we have a completed form. Dogs are placed based upon personality matches with the prospective adoptive persons/families. Adoptions are handled on a first come, first served basis. All adoptions are based upon approval by the IAMRA Board of Directors. We reserve the right to refuse adoptors. IAMRA serves Illinois and portions of some bordering states.
Each Alaskan Malamute has a modest
adoption fee.
Our dogs are temperament tested. We can give you information about the dogs likes and dislikes, level of alpha behavior, and level of socialization and training AFTER receiving an application.
