Here's what the humans have to say about me:
OH....MY...Pyrs!!! Check out this gorgeous boy Clyde..who may or may not have some Irish Wolfhound mixed in him!!!!
Hey folks, my name is Clyde and I am a very handsome 2-3 year old male Great Pyrenees/possible Irish Wolfhound mix. As a puppy you dream about the perfect home, you really do not expect much...just a family who will love for...well forever. You hope for that unconditional love..the kind of love that no one can replicate between man/woman and their dog. Well, that did not happen to me, I got the short end of the stick and I have no idea why.
I entered my new home with adoring eyes and excitement. I could not wait to get to know my new family and start my furever with them. As a puppy you are naive though, you cannot see what is right in front of you so when my owners chained me up as a puppy in the backyard because I made an "oh oh" in the house I thought it was tough love and soon I would come in again....I was once again wrong. They did not want to deal with my house-breaking and they did not want to teach me what not to chew on and what to chew on...how was I supposed to know that shoe was off limits to me? So, long story short..that chain became my new home. Day in and day out I was left outside with little shelter and sometimes they did not even feed me at all. My nails became very long and my coat became a mess of tangles. One day I manged to escape and shortly after I ended up in a small pound. Most dogs hope for their owners to come....I was hoping they would NOT come for me. I had no idea what my fate would be but I did not want to go back. Sure enough they came for me and the pound told them they would have to pay $750 in neglect fees for me if they wanted me back.....luckily they went back home without me!! I was so happy despite my condition..you know in the shelter, super emaciated, overgrown claws, dirty, and matted coat..but I was still happy.
A few days later I was off to a rescue and I am now in a foster home. The crazy thing is I get to come inside and actually be part of a family. I have gotten a bath, a brushing, and my claws clipped as much as they can at this time. I am being fed regular meals am getting more attention than I ever have in my life I believe. I am wonderful with other dogs, LOVE the AC, will lean into you for attention, am fine being left the run of the house even if no one is home, working on my housebreaking, walk okay on a leash but could use more training, ignore the cats, and would do well with children..with supervision of course! I am a big boy..well will be once I get some good weight back on my body and while my coat is still a bit ruffled it will soon be restored to its original beauty now that I am inside and getting good nutrition!
My adoption fee is $200 and I will be fully vetted, neutered, micro-chipped, negative for heart-worms, and I will be current on flea/tick and heart-worm prevention. If you would like to adopt me please visit http://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
