My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE:The gang at TLC has named this sweetheart Fozzie Bear because, well…hes just a lil Fozzie Bear! His multiple surgeries did not work out for him so he is having his rear leg amputated. We're sure he will be much happier to finally be able to romp around without breaking any pins, screws, etc….check back next week for this stoic 3 legged's progress!

This poor boy was witnessed by our friend being HIT BY A CAR- as she watched the driver just speed off! The driver even had a dog of his own in his car!! Of course, she couldn’t let him lay in the road without help. She saw he was pretty bad off- drove him to our vet, Dr Dooley who, at the end of a very busy day, dropped everything to care for this poor guy we’ve named “Saint”- we were hoping someone was looking for him but sadly, no one came forward. After x-rays, Doc learned that he has a fractured hip, shattered femur, and dislocated other hip- along with loads of road rash from the accident. We’ve seen dogs get hit by cars and when the “owners “ learn of his injuries- just don’t come forward .

Channel 7 news was kind enough to do a live story on the poor guy and we’re hoping to find a guardian angel to foster or adopt him and allow him to heal in peace and quiet. He will need a few surgeries and he’s on his way- we almost lost him once when he went into shock the night of the accident but he’s doing much better a few days later and our devoted volunteers (along with the awesome staff at TLC Animal Hospital) all agree that he’s a real “Saint” considering all he’s been through. As of Dec 1st, he made it through his first surgery like a champ and can even walk with his brace on! Everyone agrees he’s a real angel!!

He’s getting daily cuddle time and seems to appreciate every minute of it! If you know anyone who can simply provide a loving foster home for this guy as he recovers, we’ll take care of all the big stuff like vet bills and such…this guy sure was lucky he had a guardian angel (Thanks Vanessa!) and wasn’t left to suffer on the road.
