Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SUKI IN WICHITA, KANSAS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. is pleased to formally introduce our newest little spit fire in Wichita, Kansas! Suki is a vivacious 8 lb. puppy born in Nov. 2016 who is looking for a fun stay at home, active family with a sense of humor and a zest for life! This impish little rascal doesn't know a stranger and is guaranteed to steal your heart away in a New York minute! If you have an active life style, can be with her most of the day, have a sense of adventure, love to play, and another small playful dog who can keep up with this tiny dynamo, then this hilarious little monkey was made to order just for you!
SUKI WAS BORN WITHOUT A TAIL OR TAIL BONE RESULTING IN PERMANENT INCONTINENCE OF URINE/STOOL, AND IS SHORT A FEW TOES ON HER PAWS, but none of this slows her down in any way, and she is otherwise perfectly healthy destined to live a long happy life with some very fortunate forever family! Suki doesn't mind wearing a diaper indoors, and in fact we think she looks adorable in them!
SUKI WILL REQUIRE A STAY AT HOME FAMILY OR ONE THAT CAN TAKE HER TO WORK WITH THEM BECAUSE HER DIAPER WILL NEED TO BE CHANGED FREQUENTLY to prevent urine and stool from scalding her skin. She also needs to have her bladder emptied manually several times per day to prevent residual urine from collecting in her bladder which could possibly cause bladder infections. This is easily done as shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNY5BRY4iuk
IN ADDITION SHE WILL NEED TO HAVE A URINALYSIS SEVERAL TIMES EACH YEAR to check for possible bladder infections which can be treated inexpensively with antibiotics.
Suki is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, had a recent fecal, is heart worm negative, on monthly heart worm preventative, micro chipped, and ready to start her new life with some lucky family!!!!
While we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered, if someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to drive to where the dog is being fostered or fly in to adopt, and that can only happen if the dog flies home in the cabin of the plane with their new family. We never ship our rescued Griffs or allow them to fly in the cargo hold.
We never place dogs in homes reliant on electric or invisible fencing to contain pets. Fencing of this type may or may not keep a dog in the yard, nor does this type of fencing protect pets from predators, free roaming dogs, or people who may enter the yard. Should there be a power outage, the fence would be rendered useless. If a pet were to panic and run through the barrier and take an electrical jolt from the fence, that pet would not be inclined to return home, and could be lost forever.
