My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Turbo is currently being fostered by his adopter and would love the best home ever for him.

Turbo is the most low-key, gentle, quiet, sweet, laid-back, and mellow dog ever. To quote several friends and family members, "he is a gentle and sweet soul".... Turbo is so quiet and doesn't even bark that at first I didn't think he could hear! He hears fine, but he's very quiet. He loves to meet and greet other dogs. He has good dog manners and allows other dogs, no matter what size, to sniff. Once a dog snapped at him, and he did absolutely nothing.

** Turbo cannot be around cats at all. ** He is also interested in squirrels and jack rabbits if he sees them on walks. A quick tug at the leash and a firm 'no' does the trick to distract him. Turbo walks wonderfully on the leash. He does not pull or jerk and minds commands.Turbo loves going on car rides, doesn’t mind being in the car at all.

He gets excited when it's time for breakfast or dinner, rides in the car, and going for walks. He enjoys when new people come to the house and he greets them all very gently and enjoys the attention and loving. He cuddles on the couch with me and when he's done snuggling he goes to the other end of the couch to curl up and sleep. He sleeps on the bed with me every night and is quiet all night. He doesn't chew or lick and is calm. I don't think Turbo was ever taught to 'play' with toys. I did buy him two elk antlers and he will chew on them. Once in a while I can get him to play with a few toys, but overall he just likes to hang out and be with his person(s).

Health: When I rescued Turbo he was diagnosed with a pre-existing condition called perianal fistula. He was diagnosed by Sage in Concord in 2014. He had a major flare up after I rescued him, and my vet at Sage in Redwood City switched his medications to control his condition. This condition is very common with Labs and Golden Retrievers, and Turbo is a combination of these two breeds with something else in the mix too! Some people have suggested he looks part Spaniel too, but I don't see it.

Turbo is on medication that is helping him and he’s doing so great! His health is really good and we’d love for whomever adopts him to continue his treatment. He’s a wonderful dog and I’d love to see him go to the perfect home.
