Here's what the humans have to say about me:
AMAR's Sophie being fostered in New York City and ready for adoption in NY or surrounding Northeast states. Sophie is a beautiful, purebred Maltese who is 10, but you would never know it. At her vet check, the vet said if she didn't know her age, she would have thought she was 5. She is in terrific health and full of pep. Even does zoomies at night. She was used to someone being home all the time in her former home, where she was very loved, but circumstances changed and she was entrusted to us to find her a wonderful, loving home.
We would still like someone to be home much of the time as before. She's an independent girl. Not really a lap dog. She'll be near you on the couch (often on the back of it - cat dog?) but is not into snuggling and kissing. But she is a love. She's wee wee pad trained and was raised as an indoor dog; can walk on a leash but not wild about city street life so better in the burbs or country if walked outside.
We would like to find a home where she is the only pet in the house, as she's somewhat afraid of her foster brother, especially when he wants to play with her. She likes women, men and teens. She loves to eat and knows several tricks. Her foster mom, who adores her, says she's the easiest dog she's ever cared for. She is vet checked, UTD on DAPP and Rabies vaccines, had a dental in June and is in excellent health with good bloodwork. She will need yearly dentals, as is the case of many Maltese. If you're interested and fit the description above please read about our adoption process and send in an application: http://americanmalteserescue.org/application.html
