Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chief is a 2 year-old neutered male black lab. Chief weighs 77 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
Fencing: Needs fence either physical or underground.
Chief is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.
Aug 27, 2017: Chief is settling in nicely to his foster home. He enjoys his human and canine foster siblings, and even got to go to a soccer game! He's a sweet boy and is going to make a wonderful companion!
Aug 15, 2017: Chief is easy going and calm for a 2 year old, it may be he is still figuring out what he can get away with. He thinks giving you a Lablean is the best way to get his back and butt scratched. He isn't big on retrieving, will go see what you tossed but doesn't bring it back all the time. He takes treats gently, likes to be petted and loves belly rubs. He needs to have a home with a fenced yard so he can get exercise playing with his owners without wandering off.
Kids 8 and up, lived with a boy and a girl ages 8 & 9. Good with other dogs. No cats, chickens or goats. Knows come, sit, down, sometimes lay down. Okay on lead. Reported as house and crate trained.
