Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB 6/12/17
Hi My name Kennedy. I'm one of 7 in the "President Pup Group" my siblings and I were born in Missiouri. Our mom is a Great Pyrenees mix and our dad is a lab. But once we got bigger the family didn't want us anymore. So 2 really nice people from Illinois came and picked us up and told us A Journey Home Dog Rescue would help us find our "forever" home. I'm a little mischievous rascal and I don't miss a beat. . We love playing with our toys. But I also love to be cuddled. People are pretty neat also. Especially when they want to pet us and play.
We are learning our manners, and we have also started learning potty training. For this reason we need someone who's home most of the time to continue our housebreaking, socialization, and training. We are starting to get the Great Pyrness attitude. We would ask before applying that unless you know this breed to please research it to make sure this would be a good fit.
If you or your family are gone for extended hours , please consider a teen or adult dog
A JOURNEY HOME DOES NOT DO OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTIONS ON UNALTERED
PUPPIES. PLEASE READ OUR PROCESS BELOW BEFORE SENDING AN INQUIRY.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for your interest in adopting!
A Journey Home is a 501c3, all foster/volunteer based rescue. Our rescues are living with families in their homes. We do not have a shelter.
If you are interested in adopting, you will find the application on our website https://www.ajourneyhomedogrescue.org/ to fill out and send back. Or, you can email ajourneyhomedogrescue@gmail.com to request an application. After your application has been received and given a preliminary approval, you will be contacted by an adoption coordinator who will conduct a phone interview. Final approval will be granted following a successful meet and greet with the entire family. Must be 21 years or older to adopt.
A Journey Home does not do out-of-state adoptions on unaltered puppies. Spay/neuter surgery is not done on puppies under 6 months of age.
If adopting a puppy under the age of 6 months, we require that the adopter schedules the spay/neuter at our participating vet clinic when age appropriate.
Our standard adoption fee is $300, payable by cash or check. The fee includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, a free vet visit at one of our participating clinics, and micro-chipping.
First time pet owners will be required to sign up for a puppy/training class at a place of their choice. There will be an additional $50 added to your adoption fee, which will be refunded to you upon proof the class was completed.
Please note that breed and size are our best guesses, while ages are estimated by our vets and are not guaranteed.

PLEASE consider becoming a foster home, and find out how rewarding it can be! A Journey Home provides basic needs, including medical expenses at our participating clinics located in Wheaton, Naperville, and Geneva. You supply the love! High kill shelters are overcrowded with dogs and puppies that need our help. More fosters on our team means we can save more lives! For more information or for a foster application please email ajourneyhomedogrescue@gmail.com,
