Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Wow, is there a lot of personality packed in this pint-sized dog! Moose is a real character. She gets her name not from a large size (she's probably around 35 lbs), but from her enormous personality. Moose is a super-cute, rather short, tan and white dog. She's very playful - and loves to play with toys. She feels comfortable with everyone right off the bat and likes to play those "come get my toy while I dodge you" games you usually only see with long-term pets. Anyone that has experience with bully breeds knows that they tend to be quiet, unless they have a reason to bark. In true Rhode Island fashion, Moose is very chatty, is very animated and can get a little loud. At first her barking was a little startling. Then we realized that she kept barking and trying to get us to play with her. Luckily, Moose is very treat-motivated and is really a people pleaser. She is easily corrected, easily bribed and (relatively) willing to take commands from new people. Moose will need some obedience schooling. All dogs adopted through Providence Animal Control are eligible for low-cost training with Sue Parker from Dynamic Dog Training in West Warwick. Moose is probably 3 years old, meaning that her personality is fully mature. She hasn't met any cats, but we think she'll be fine with other dogs. She met a little dog this weekend and was so excited to see him. She kept wanting to play with him. With her being so vocal, and a little oblivious, she didn't seem to notice that her barking was less than tempting for the other dog. She really seems like she would love to play with another dog. If you have a dog who isn't easily ruffled, bring him down to meet her. For the time being, Moose may be a bit much for small children. Once she's got the hang of following directions, she'll be a wonderful little family pet. With her energy, she's sure to tucker-out kids. Come adopt Moose, the biggest little dog in the biggest little state! -- PLEASE REFER TO LOG # 660 WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT THIS DOG. If you would like to meet a dog, please visit the shelter during regular business hours or email aimless123@gmail.com. Shelter hours are Monday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM - closed holidays. Out of respect for employee schedules, volunteers can't take a dog out within 15 minutes of shelter closing time. Animal Control Officers and shelter employees do not work with the dogs and often can not provide information about the animal's personality. You must go to the shelter to arrange an adoption in person. No adoptions can be arranged over the phone or by Internet.
