Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Luna is a silly, active pup who is getting a second chance at life. She was found in rough shape walking in the road - but has gotten great care and is now enjoying life with regular love and predictable meals! Her skin was a mess with fleas, but has cleared up now and she has a gorgeous coat.
She came to us with a mild case of heartworm disease and she is receiving the slow-kill treatment.
She has no symptoms and has been medically cleared to play and live normally. If she finds the right home before she's officially "negative" we would provide her monthly heartworm medication and pay for her to be re-tested (in July '18.)
She under 2 years old and has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She knows how to sit, loves to retrieve the ball - and, of course, loves treats! She has learned to play fetch - and has learned how to give her beloved ball for a back or butt scratch... She really needs a home with a fenced yard (5+ feet preferred) - for her enjoyment and safety... She's got great drive and energy, but is going to need a home that can keep up with her and keep her safe! She rides well in the car...
Because of her energy level, we would prefer that her forever home have no children... (Maybe older children would be okay - at least 10-12 years old or older and with dog experience??) She has a strong food drive - and we have strong suspicions that she will be a counter-surfer if left unsupervised. Because she may require a good bit of supervision and attention, we would feel most comfortable if she would be an only-dog in her forever home...
(She may, in fact, be a purebred lab - but we just don't know her background - and would rather spend our limited resources on food than a doggie DNA test...)
