My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How did Mary Poppins put it? Cody is "practically perfect in every way."

Cody is cute and cuddly; he loves to be held and snuggled (he'll be even more cuddly once his hair grows back!). He was very matted when he came into the shelter, so he got the usual shelter shave-down (see his "before" photo). But if you know anything about bichons and poodles, you know how soft and beautiful their non-shedding hair is. Give him a few months and he will be absolutely gorgeous!

Cody is 1-2 years old and about 15 lbs, but still acts very much like a puppy. He's lively, smart, and curious. He loves to play and do the "bichon blitz." Cody is great with gentle kids, and would make a wonderful family dog.

Here's an email from Cody's foster mom that pretty much sums it up: "Cody is a great dog. He is very happy to be with his humans and this is his first and foremost goal. He does run around and play with the other dogs, but his humans are number one. He is a snuggly and loving little guy. I can’t believe how he likes to put his face near yours and give loves. What an angel! He has a nice coat, and seems very healthy. He hasn’t displayed any attempt to lift his leg in the house (other than when he first got here and smelled my dog). Last night when the puppy was barking at him he just turned the other cheek and ignored her as much as he could. What a good boy! This dog is near perfect. Why did he end up in a shelter? He must have gotten out and got lost or something because he is one of the more perfect little pups I have had in a long time. He has certainly blended well with my crazy pack. Regarding your question, would Cody do well with first-time dog owners? My answer is yes. If there is ever going to be a great dog, he is it. If they fail with him they will fail with anything other than a stuffed animal...."

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, and ID tag.
