This lovely pair of boys have been with us since last summer! Please consider opening your heart to give them a loving forever home!
Bilbo and Cooper are sweet but shy brothers who were part of a group of 12 guinea pigs rescued from a cockfighting ring. The neutered boys were about 6 to 8 months old when we took them in. They were the oldest in the group and likely were next up to be used for bait. They are very healthy and love interacting with people, despite all they have been through.
Bilbo is a black crested piggie with a tan stripe. He is very curious and is the bolder of the two boys. He will take food from your hand and allow the occasional cheek or head scratch. Bilbo loves lap time and enjoys his cuddles. Cooper, who orange and tan, is quite shy although he is the louder wheeker of the two if he thinks you have a snack for him. He also will rattle his cage to get your attention if he wants more hay or water. He leans into while you hold him and makes little purring sounds. Both boys are a little jumpy when you pick them up but quickly settle in for their snuggles. Cooper still can get a little spooked so because of this, he would not be the right piggie for a younger child.
Bilbo and Cooper love their fresh veggies and fruits and wheek loudly if you aren't fast enough getting them their snacks. They also have an excellent appetite for their Oxbow pellets and Timothy hay. The boys love to eat and they have yet to meet a veggie that they won’t try! Bilbo and Cooper will need to live in a Rescue-required Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes located in a room the family spends time in so everyone can enjoy their company. We also ask that anyone adopting them lives a driving distance from Mt. Airy, MD.
The adoption fee for Bilbo and Cooper is $90 ($45 per neutered male). Are you interested in finding out more about adopting this lovable pair? Then please send an e-mail to guineapigs@smallangelsrescue.org. NOTE: We respond to all inquiries so please check your Spam folder.
