My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nutmeg is under 2 years old and is a Pot Hound from Grenada! (Yes!!! The Island!) She came to the Grenada SPCA with an injured leg. They tried to fix it but it became clear that they couldn't save it so it was amputated. She adjusted super well to being a tri-paw and gets around just fine. In fact, she is very fast! Nutmeg was brought to the United States by a student of the Veterinary College located on the island. She has been in her foster home for several weeks and we can tell you that she is AMAZING! She is 27lbs. She loves other dogs and people. She lives with a bunch of dogs but unfortunately many of these dogs are old and grouchy so she doesn't have the playmate she is looking for. Nutmeg loves toys and in an afternoon, she will have all the toys out of her toy box and scattered across the floor. She has had very few accidents with her bathroom break schedule and does well in a crate when her foster parents are away from the house. She made a little nest on an armchair in her foster home the first night and has slept there every night since. She is quiet in the house but will bark and run and play outside. She loves a good backyard but will exploit any weak spot in a fence to chase a squirrel or a rabbit (which her foster family learned pretty quickly). She is an all-around awesome dog!
