Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Due to the nature of our adoption process, this foster is only able to consider forever families within 50 miles from zip code 75034. A vet reference and trial adoption will be done before the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.
Chiyo is a stunning purebred 2-year-old female Husky. She was rescued by her foster mom through Furry Friends Animal Rescue, who fell in love with this pretty princess with beautiful amber eyes at first sight. When she was found, she had ticks and was very skinny, weighing only 32lb as a full-grown Husky. Now, after 2 months in foster care with proper care and nutrition, she is 40lb, happy, healthy and ready to find her forever home. She is sweet, affectionate and loves human attention. She can be a little bit shy at first, but only a few minutes after meeting you, she will be rolling over for belly rubs asking to be petted, and a few hours later, she will be your unconditional loving companion! She likes to put her head on her foster mom’s legs or curl up by her side and is always very calm with her foster family. Her foster mom was glad to find out Chiyo is smart, learned to sit on command quickly and that she is also great in car rides. Though she wasn’t potty trained when she was first rescued, she is a quick learner and is almost 100% house-broken by now. As a young husky, she is very active and loves to play and run. She is doing well in her foster home with an adult male husky – the two of them play constantly as if they had always been best friends. So she would probably do best with a playful canine companion and with an active family as she LOVES her exercise. Speaking of exercise, Chiyo can jump over a 6-foot fence easily, so requirements for adopting her are that you have an 8-foot fence or higher and not leave her alone in the yard. Chiyo would love a forever family who would not leave her alone for long periods of time and who can give her plenty of love. She will soon be your sweet shadow. She will also need an adopter with experience with large dogs who can take her to obedience training to help her understand her human's expectations. She is a loving and sweet dog but can get weary of strangers in walks or even vet offices. She is going to need a family that not only is willing to work with her, but wants to work with her and finds reward in watching a dog evolve. You will be touched by her loyalty.
If you are interested in meeting Chiyo and can provide her with all the love and care she deserves, please fill out an application at furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and her foster mom will get in touch with you to plan a meet and greet.
Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75034) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.
You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.
Foster Homes are needed in order to help more dogs and cats. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.FurryFriendsAnimalRescue.org and look under HOW TO HELP. Furry Friends provides veterinary care - you provide the home and love!.
We also need Volunteers for Adoption Events at Petsmart and Cage Cleaners.
