My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sherman came to the shelter in May, after being struck by a car, but his injuries were not serious -- he just needed some time to heal. His rescuer wanted to take him home, but in the interim, we discovered Sherman is too aggressive with other cats, especially females, so he cannot go to a home with other cats. But the good news is he seems very fond of dogs! He tested well with a large shelter dog, and even wanted to spend time with the dog. And he really enjoys the companionship of humans, loves sitting on our laps and doing a happy little dance, getting face rubs and kisses. He's your average fun orange tiger, thinks he's one of us, thinks he's awesome, and he's got a cute white bib and boots as well. He just does not think he should have to share his space with other cats. But he would make a great companion for a home where he can be your only feline, and would probably enjoy the company of children too.

Sherman is estimated to be 5 years old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Sherman, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
