Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet, forlorn Sophie arrived at the shelter in early June when her companion could no longer care for her. She must have been very loved by this person, who became ill, because she is very fond of her new human friends, but also very depressed to find herself at the shelter, living in a cage. She enjoys attention, sitting on a lap for a bit, getting some kisses, and then going to lounge on the windowsill to look sadly out at the world, wondering when she will be back in a real home. Though she seems a bit bothered by the other cats, sending them verbal warnings to stay away, she does not fight with them or bother them. And she tested well with a large, gentle dog, so we think she won't mind sharing a new home with a canine companion, one that is accustomed to living with a cat. And she will probably be good with children too.
Sophie is 5 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Sophie, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
