Innes is a real gem!! He loves people, is very eager to please and wants to give you all of the kisses he has! Innes excels in an active home. He loves to go for long walks and hikes, and is an excellent running partner.
He is great with other dogs, and loves making new friends at the dog park. He would do best with an energetic family who have lots of space for him to run around. And it would be ideal if he has canine or human company most of the time so he doesn't get lonely.
He is house trained and crate trained, and will stay in his crate overnight without even closing the door! He walks pretty well on a leash, but just needs to learn to be a little more polite and not pull towards other dogs when he gets excited about saying hello. Sometimes his excitement can get a little too much for him and he tries to jump up on people to give them kisses.
Overall his untapped potential when it comes to training is really astounding. He will make a fantastic companion to the right family. He is a very sweet dog who deserves all of the love and cuddles he can get!! Innes unfortunately did not receive top notch medical care in his last home and is now being treated for Lyme disease, his prognoise is good and you can't even tell that he is sick! When adopted he will come with medication.
If you are interested in adopting Innes please email SLN2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Innes' adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
