ADOPTION PENDING
Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue is looking for a furever family for this amazing Dane!
We would like to introduce you to this handsome four year old named Max. Don't let that grey face full you. He is full of spunk and love. We do not know much of Max's past but we do know he is ready for the good life. A few things you should know about Max.
He loves to be wherever you are; if that means laying down off to the side or being right in the center of the room, as long as you are there with him he is one happy boy. He is crate-trained and potty-trained. He sleeps in his crate and goes in there when his foster parents leave. He learned very quickly which door to go to when he has to potty and will stand by it touching the door handle till you take him out.
Max loves most people; adults are his favorite. He does prefer to do introductions on his terms and does not like it when people rush at him. He will growl and hide from them. When he is approached appropriately, with the adult ignoring him and not giving eye contact. Max is allowed to do his sniffing and will quickly become best friends with that person. As for little kids, Max has been around a few in his time in foster care and does not care much for them. He does give off small growls and will move away if they try and approach him. Max would do great in a home with older kids or even a home with no kids. Max also feels the same way about other dogs. It would be best for Max to go to a home with no dogs. He has shown some dislike for other dogs and he is quite happy being by himself with toys and your love and attention. Max has been around a couple of cats, and does not care for them either. He would need to go to a home with no small children (if any at all), no cats, and no other dogs.
Max also has some other little quirks. He has some shaking in his back and front legs, which is getting better. Max does not like tile or slippery floors. He will put on the breaks when entering a room if he does not like how the floor looks. When going to the vet, Max's foster Mom took one of his blankets and laid it down on the scale and the floor leading into the exam room and he had no issues once the blanket was there. He is a sweet boy, but he knows what floors might cause him issues!
Max is a large boy. He weighs in at 148.8 lbs and he is a big love bug. He is very shy with giving kisses but will take all the rub downs and scratches you want to give him. He loves to lean and will let you know he likes you by doing just that. He will moan when you scratch his years and he gives you a bunch of sniff kisses in appreciation. Max does wonderful in car rides and will just sit and enjoy the world going by. He will not jump in and out of an SUV so having a smaller car would be just fine for this guy.
If his face doesn't pull you in, this big guy's sweet personality will. Max is going to make the right family an amazing addition. His foster Mom will tell you he is worth every ounce of energy and love you want to give him. Are you the perfect fit for Max?
