Tulip is a very special old girl who will tug right at your heartstrings. Last February, she landed in a local Maine shelter as a stray. She was in bad shape — obese and barely able to walk due to issues with her knees.
In March, we got her into a wonderful foster home where her people have been doing a great job helping her lose weight with diet and aqua therapy (so far she’s lost about 20 lb.)! Now that she has less weight to carry around, we’ve begun to put a plan in place for fixing the torn ACLs in her knees so she’ll be much more comfortable.
Tulip has been improving by leaps and bounds with all of the love and care she is getting, and life is getting better for her every day!
Tulip is a loving and affectionate old girl. She currently lives with two dogs and a cat and does well with them, but people are her favorite! If you’d like to help a special old girl get as healthy as she can so she can live out her retirement in comfort, Tulip might be the dog for you!
Ideal Home: One in which she has a best friend who is around a lot.
