Hi there! I'm Ash. The first thing you might notice about me is my face. It is full of scars from my past life. You see, I was brought into Lake City Pet Hospital as a feral. I was trapped, but the woman noticed I was very sick and didn't know if I was going to make it. Unfortunately, she was right and she didn't have the funds to save me. That's where Power of the Paw stepped in. They didn't want me to die without trying to save me. They got to work and after a few days, I started to feel a teeny bit better. They were worried about if I was going to actually be feral once I started feeling better, but boy were they wrong. After I got over my inital sickness, they neutered me and gave me a dental. You see, I had a ton of crushed teeth, likely from being hit by a car. They were so painful and then, they found I also had a broken jaw. It was a rough healing for me, but now, I'm back to normal.
I love people. I mean LOVE people. I also LOVE dogs. In fact, I think I am one. I'm staying at the clinic and boy, do they love me or what. They want to keep me, but know I would be much happier in a home. When they leave for the day, I get so upset that I cry, looking for some company. A home where I can cuddle people at night would be a dream come true.
Here's the thing though, I am FIV positive. Don't let this scare you away from me, though. It is not transferrable to dogs, or humans and it is only transferrable to cats by a deep bite. So far, I don't show any aggression to other cats so I may be able to live peacefully with other cats as well. There's always a risk. With FIV, I have a low immune system so keeping me on nutritious food is very important plus, I need to always be indoors. No exceptions. Quite honestly, I hate the outdoors. It was a very painful and scary time in my life and I'm ready for that to be over.
