My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey lost her home when her elder companion could no longer care for her, and though a neighbor tried to give her a home, it didn’t work out because the other cat in the home bullied Honey, and now she is intimidated by other cats. She doesn’t cause any trouble with them, but she keeps her distance and gets anxious if any come near her preferred cozy place. And the shelter is no place for a cat who is stressed by the presence of other cats! Honey really needs a special person to rescue her from life among other felines! She is fond of her volunteer friends, however, and would make a great companion for a senior, a single or a couple with a quieter home. Honey has pretty green eyes, and enjoys having her thick, beautiful Maine Coon-ish coat petted and brushed. She will need a home with no other animals, and preferably one without young children who might chase her.

Honey is 4-1/2 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Honey, or an adoption application, email Scituatepound1@juno.com, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
