My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ARIEL is a one year, one month old white with tiger patches female cat. MOZART is a one-year, six-month-old black and white long-haired male cat. Ariel’s short life has been beset by tragedy – she had her own home, with an owner that loved her deeply, and one that Ariel loved just as equally, and the owner passed away. Ariel was taken in by another owner, who tried…but Ariel was despondent and unhappy, and the new owner did not think Ariel was doing well in the different household. Ariel was adjusting slowly to shelter life, but you could see the pain and loneliness in her beautiful green eyes. And then came Mozart. Mozart was sheltering in a garage, prying through a hole to have some warmth and safety. A near-by resident, economically disadvantaged herself, donated her food-bank tuna to keep this boy from starving to death. When Mozart came to us, he had an injured back paw, and his eyes were so infected from his eyelashes turning in and irritating his eyes he couldn't even open them. He was severely matted, his fur wound tightly around the foliage that had clung to him as he traveled about. We put these two together, and well, love heals many wounds. These two have bonded, and it does our hearts good to see the affection and closeness they share together. Mozart’s easy-going and easy-to-please demeanor has helped Ariel to overcome her grief, and to be the affectionate, beautiful girl she is. If you’re looking for an engaging pair of felines, we have a set!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and a fecal test.
