Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Millie, one of the newest rescues to come to the CARES Ranch! She is a female, Golden Retriever/Setter blend! This girl is a beauty who, at 2.5 years old, is full grown at 45 pounds. Millie is house-trained, knows sit and down, is very smart and likes to learn. She's a super sweet girl who enjoys leash walks and laying by your feet while you watch TV. She gets along well with other animals, is gentle and wants to be with you all the time. She can be leery of strangers sometimes and will bark or growl (mostly when she is in a crate) but as soon as they lean down and pet her, she likes to give them kisses! Because of this, Millie would be better placed in a quiet household with no small children (so not a lot of traffic with neighbor kids in and out). Millie was a surrender from an owner who could no longer keep her. Millie does jump lower fences so her new home needs to have 6 foot (or higher) fence or an underground fence system for her safety (she only jumps fences when you aren't with her). She is already fully vetted and ready for her new home. We are accepting applications now as she will adopt quickly which frees up space for us to save more! If you are interested in making Millie a permanent part of your family, please contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application or you can download one directly from our website www.caresga.org. We have adopted as far South as Florida, as far North as Maine and as far West as California so just ask for details if do not live close. As always, a perfect vet reference is required as we only place these babies in perfect FURever homes!
Adoption fees for puppies are $350, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
